Treif are a manufacturer and distributor of meat processing products throughout Europe. Their UK operation has a clean-room showroom, storage and offices which were lit using SON lighting in the warehouse and fluorescent tubes throughout the offices and showroom.
Lighting objectives
The warehouse and office light levels were not to the levels required and the colour temperature was too warm for the clean-room requirements. Also energy consumption was very high.
How did Novah approach this project?
We did a site survey and a lighting design to demonstrate that we could improve the light levels in the warehouse and offices and we also allowed the client to do a trial with one sample for the warehouse to reassure them that the colour of the light would be more like the clean-room environment that they were keen to achieve.
Challenges
There were some legacy fittings that we advised the customer that it would be very expensive to replace and after our consultation, they agreed with us not to change them. We have suggested to the customer to reconsider these once the fittings need replacing.

Outcomes
The customer has noticed a significant improvement in the light levels and is delighted to have no more worries about lighting maintenance.
